It is one of the saddest realities of e-commerce, but lost mailings do happen, even if it is exceedingly rare.
Our course of action differs based on the type of shipping (First-Class or Priority) and the destination (Domestic or International).
Here is what you can expect for each type:
First-Class Domestic & First-Class International:
First-Class is an economy mode of shipping that is very reliable. Because it is far cheaper than the alternatives, it lacks insurance and thus recourse in the event your goods are lost. This means that if you elect to ship you order First Class, you will not be eligible for any kind of real-time service, or get a refund or a replacement for your order. If you want to protect yourself and your goods, look to Priority shipping!
Priority Domestic & Priority International:
Priority is the more comprehensive shipping option available from USPS since it comes with insurance included automatically. In the case of Domestic Priority, that amounts to $100 of coverage. In the case of International Priority there is up to $200 of insurance included.
For all Priority shipments, a claim can be filed to recoup your expenses. This process takes about two weeks to complete.
For Domestic Priority shipments, $100 is the maximum insured claim available, so if your order’s value exceeded that amount the difference will not be covered. We will not cover the difference between an order's value and the insurance payout.
For International Priority shipments, $200 is the maximum insured claim available, so if your order’s value exceeded that amount the difference will not be covered. We will not cover the difference between an order's value and the insurance payout.
Additional insurance is always available, so if you wish to ensure yourself against a lost order, just get in touch!
